I just read about this band in Utne Magazine, Tyr, named after the Norse God of War and Justice hails from the Faroe Islands a collection of 18 Islands in the Atalantic Ocean between Scotland and Iceland, with Viking heritege and roots.
The band did a very interesting thing with thier music which is what makes me mention them here. They sing traditional Viking Ballads and old Viking stories of mythology to the tune of modern heavy metal music, in which they combine both english and the old Nordic diliect.
