The Eight of Swords depicts an unhappy situation which we are afraid to extricate ourselves. We may fear the consequences of taking any kind of action, perhaps becasue we sense that things will not be easy whatever we decide to do. We may feel trapped by our indecissivness, gripped by mental anguish, or opresdsed by our circumstances, but we need to come to terms with the part we have played in creating them.

We are still in a posistion to make some changes, albeit small ones. The situation may not be as complex as we think, but we need to face it as honestly as possible. Once we beigin to take responseablity for our lives and break free from whatever is inhibiting us, we will begin to feel more empowered.
