The sense of gloom inherent in this card is more in the mind than in actuality. We may be feeling unduly pessimistic, or we may be caught in the aftermath of a difficult situation that continues to haunt us and color our preception of the future. What we most fear is unlikely to come true and things are never as bad as we imagine, but the pain we have experinced is painting everything black.

We may be having bad dreams or morbid fantasies or we may find it impossible to relax because we are feeling depressed. It might be helpful to uncover the acutal source of our fears, since any insights that we gain will be helpful in dispelling them.

Once we realize they are entirely unfounded we will be able to enjoy ourselves again.
