In the Justice card the sword is symbolic of masculine energy and the scales represent the feminine principle. These two images refelct the balance between male and female. Fairness and imparality can be cold and unfeeling unless they are tempered with compassion.
The sword of discrimination enables us to cut through our prejudices and analyze a situation rationaly and intelligently. The scales offer us a balanced presepctive so that we are in a posistion to make a sound judgement.
And Justice reflects our mental ablity to discriminate and make dispassionate evaluations. If a situation requires an impersonal descision, then wemust first weigh everything up and not be swayed by emotion or bias.
This card asks us wheather we are able to be honest and truthful with ourselves and accept the situation in which we find oursevles. We need to recognize that where we find ourselves is often the result of a balance between our own actions and the circumstances that life has engendered.
If we can be quite honest about this and not put the blame on other poeple then we will be able to move on and not get stuck in resentment and denial.
