Herbs:

Pink lavender: although most herbalist prefer pink lavender, most specis of lavander make an acceptiable subsitute. All are equally armoamtic

Lemon balm: In ancient times lemon balm was considered the best remedy for a troubled nervous system

St. John's wort: This ancient remedy for melancholia was supposed to scare away evil spirits, protecting those who planted it. Caution Prolonged use can lead to photosenitivity

Betony: The Celts named this herb Beu and ton which means head and good. It became a faveorite monastery herb.

Gathering

Aerial parts of St. Johns wort as the flowers appear. Gather aerial parts of lemon blam and betony as needed. Pick lavender flowers when they begin to open.

Remedies

Relaxing Tea

Make a tea with a large sprig of lemon balm to a cup of boiling water. Add one lavender flower. Drink three times a day.

Tea for a dull headache

Make a tea with three betony leaves or three flowers to a cup of boiling water. To reilive the headaches which can often acompany depression take a cup in the morning, as needed.

Cheering tincture

Make a St. Johns word tincture. Take a teaspoonful three times a day for three weeks and no more then two months.
