In this card a change in relationship takes place. There is a need to let go of something and this brings with it regert. However, the cups that remain standing indicate that there is still something posistive on which to build. We need to focus on what is redeemable and take on board the fact that, for the time being we have reached an impase.

We have an opportunity to address our emotional values and review our relationship to others. We might be going through an emotionally painful time, but this may be neccessary in order to make some fundemental changes.

It may be difficult to understand what is being required of us, but the Five of Cups indicates that it is possible to salvage something and this gives us hope for the future.
