First carry a tiger's-eye gemstone, a stone of strength and confidence. in your pocket and hold it. Then tighten and release your abdomenal muscles several times slowly to help reduce stage fright. As you breath forcus on relaxing throught your slow exhalations.

Smiles at someone in the group you like, of think you could like and see if you don't get a smile back. Finally admit how you feel by saying "I always feel nervous in front of a goup I don't know well. Have you ever felt that way?"

If all else fails talke about pets. Most people have or have had a pet. Get them started on Fluffy or Rex and the covnersation is in the bag.
