The Nature of Obeah Spells Empty

Obeah spells are extraordinarily powerful, especially when cast by a true and practiced Obeah Man such as myself. As such Obeah spells should not be taken lightly, and should not be turned to unless your need is real and great.

Obeah spells, especially love spells and spells of healing, or spells for financial success, should only be considered when:

You have exhausted all other means available to you.
You are fully prepared to actually receive what it is you desire. Because you will get it.
Obeah spells are complex rituals that involve offerings and sacrifice to the appropriate Deities. Many of the actual elements of the ingredients that go into the spells and rituals are shrouded in secrecy. Each Obeah man also takes a very personal journey on his path to power. Therefore particular shamanistic articles are very personal and individual to the Obeah Man’s own “Oanga Bag” or medicine bag. However the items involved in the casting of love spells or other spells involve the use of all things of the earth: roots, herbs, bones and bodily secretions of animals.

The Obeah practitioner when casting spells needs to enter an altered state of consciousness to establish communication with the Deities whose favor he needs to invoke to cast the spell. Entering this state is much the same as among other shamanistic practices and involves the use of many of the same types of plants and herbs that have been used throughout the ages to bring about such spiritual and physical transformations. The literature usually suggests that these are the plants that contain derivatives of tropane, such as the varieties of Nightshade and Bella Donna. Other plants similar to the banisteriopsis caapi vine – the so called “Vine of the Soul” used to make the “Sorcerers Brew” of the Medicine Men of the Brazilian Rain Forest, are also no doubt involved, as are other psychotropic plants and roots similar to peyote.

In Obeah as in Voodoo and all other practices based on the West African Religions, music and dance also plays a key role in communicating with the sprit realm. Ritualistic dancing will likely also preclude the casting of any Obeah spells.

Sacrifice and blood offerings of animals may be involved in some Obeah spells. But I remind the reader that sacrifice and burnt offerings are a also a major part of the Judeo-Christian tradition, one need look no deeper into biblical reference than the Binding of Isaac, and the Paschal Lamb of Passover to see this.

Unfortunately, the public’s perception of Obeah and of all of the Afro-Caribbean rites and rituals only point to the evil or vengeful side of things. There are Obeah healing spells, Obeah spells to bring healthy crops and fertility, love spells, purification spells, and joyous spells that simply celebrate life.

Obeah spells may be used to bring harmony and peace, increased abundance of good fortune, love and material happiness, and cure disease. It matters less what are the actual ingredients that go into those spells, then that they do work and can effectively change a person’s life for the better.
