In the Egyptian tradition, there is beleif that we have Seven Souls, which are also called the Seven Lights or the Seven Spirits. Here is a list of the name of each soul, and what its particuarly placement and purpose is.

Ka: means twice; Egyptian name for your double. When you are dead the double has a changeable personality.

Ba: One intimate little soul; the most intimate of the seven powers and spirits. It has the body of a bird and the face of the deceassed.

Ren: Onces secret name; leaves imidately; does not belong to the man but comes out of the celiestial waters. Enters infant on his or her hour of birth and may not stir again untill was time to go back out. The most remore of the seven lights.

Sekhem: A gift of the sun; it is one power; it moves the limbs.

Khu: A bird of iluminous wings and radiant head. Sweet bird of the night; a creature of divine intelligence. The light in ones mind.

Khabit: Ones shadow; imperfect; ones memories

Sekhu: Soul that remains in the body after it no longer lives. There remains a reflection of strength.
