For finding a new home or for redecorating and old one, it can be benefical to keep a three-ring binder and divide it into sections. One for each room of the house you would like to have, or decorate. One of the house itself and one of the land surrounding the house.
Use a paper punch to punch holes in paper to insert into your binder. Each time you find a picture of a house you like, or a peice of furniture you like, something that evokes the mood you would like to have in your home, cut it out and past it into the proper section.
This gives you a focus, rasies your energy, and helps you define what it is you are looking for in a home.
