Use of Scissors in Folk Magick

In the uses of folk magick, and many women, whom traditionaly had to spend most thier time at home and taking care of the household, common household items when then become used as tools of magic. A pair of scissors is one such item.

In Strega Folk Magick a pair of scissors were used to break spells, and sever magikcal astral connections. This is accmplished by acts of either cutting, slashing, or acutally dropping the scissors. Cutting up a picture can sever the connection with that person, as can cutting up a piece of thier clothing.

Olive oil drops can be placed upon the surface of a bowl of water, to represent whatever needs banishment. The scissors can be jabbed into the drops while visulizing the porblem. A person beleived to be under a spell can be freed by sneaking up behind them and dropping the scissors on the floor.

A charm in the image of a pair of scissors can also be worn for protecting of hung in a window over a doorway. The same is also true of a horeshoe, key, or a peice of horn.
