Pot marigold: Not to be confussed with Tagetes or French marigold which is not theraputic. Calendula officinanlis is essential to any herb collection.
Silver Queen lemon thyme: A realitvely new varity of lemon thyme, Silver Queen has random silver markings and a strong lemony scent.
Braodleaf thyme: This is an improved version of wild thyme. Medincally it is much more potent with broader strongly aromatic leaves.
Lemon thyme: With its fine silverly leaves, lemon thyme makes an agreable contrast with pot marigold.
Gathering
Aerial parts of thyme as needed. Pick pot marigold flowers as they open.
Remedies
Thyme and pot marigold tea
To treat the condition internally make a tea with a sprig of thyme and one pot marigold flower to a cup of boiling water. Drink three times a day.
Pot marigold cream
Gently heat three of four flowers in 1 oz base cream. Stir well untill cream turns an orange color. Strain in a jar and let cool and apply three times a day.
Pot marigold wash
Make a simple infusion from the flowers. including the outter green cup. Let cool and bathe the affected parts frequntly with the wash.
