The mirror has had a long standing associaton and connection with the mystic, magickal and supernatural, and serves more then one use. Mirrors have been objects both of fear and supersistion but they also can serve as a valuable tool.
Becasue of thier reflective property, many spiritual and symbolic associtions have been tagged onto this lieral and physical use, windows are often seen as portals to the spirit realm, and other worlds, most of us are famillar with the game Bloody Marry, and some may even had true experinces with it.
Mirrors also can offer us a way to look within ourselves beyound just the physcial releflection, and can offer a way for our minds and spirits to reach out to places and people beyound our physcial reach.
Mirror Travel
Set up your altar with a mirror facing you, if you have a ceremonial robe or cloak dress in that, and only that, if not you can improvise using a bathrobe you might have or some smillar type of garment.
Take your antame and point it at the mirror and say "astral powers open up, I call you" remove your robe so you are naked, and light the insencense. Look into the mirror, directly in your eyes. Wait untill the mirror turns black, then say "I call upon the dieties, spirits, and elements to come forth together, to this, my circle and guide me on this path"
If your spell is to travel somewhere or to someone continue with this: Look into the mirror and let the mirror turn black, visualize where you want to go. Keep doing this untill the mirror shows you a sign or a symbol, then visualize yourself going through the mirror, visualize you are in the place you want to go, soon the mirror will take over
If your spell calls you to call a person to you continue with this: Look into the mirror and chant the persons name over and over. Let the mirror turn black and visulalize the person in the mirror, chant thier name, soon the mirror will take over, when it does tell the person what you want them to do.
And mirrors have also been used as tools of divination, and for scrying purposes. Scrying is a sort of crystal ball technique of looking nto the future, though it does not have to be done with a litteral crystal ball.
Below are a couple of techniques using the mirror
Connect with your inner spirit
Start by either standing or sitting in front of a full length mirror. You need a full length mirror so that you can see your whole body. Begin by staring into your eyes. You can blink if you need to. Looking into your own eyes triggers the connection and makes it happen. The length of time you need depends on the mood you’re in. Sometimes it might happen right away, but sometimes it might take a few minutes.
You look into the mirror and if it works, you’ll see the reflection moving differently. You will feel like you can see someone else in the reflection of your eyes. Then, you can talk with your spirit. It should tell you how you’re doing, using words that you wouldn’t have thought of. If it works, you should not have stress. Your stress will melt away.
